Abstract
This article seeks to reveal the relationship between theater and memory, based 011 the review of a series of works based on the theme of northern Chile. The theater defined ontologically is made up of three sub-events - poiesis, expectation and conviviality - where a zone of mutual affection is generated between the performers and the audience. In this area of subjectivity and joint experience, processes of ontological identification of the public with the work can be developed. In this way, it is postulated that such identification is favored Í11 the case of works that deal with northern Chile with the existence of a collective memory that allows the public's feeling of identity to be reinforced.
